More Soaking StormsJuly 19th, 2013 at 9:54 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
For much of the past week we dodged flooding rains in the Albuquerque metro area. But that luck ended in a big way on Friday. More than 1.5″ of rain fell over the northeast heights of the Albuquerque metro area. Flooding rain pushed rocks into the road and also washed out sections of dirt roads in Eastern portions of the county.
The chance for storms will continue this weekend as those storms form over the mountains and come toward the metro area. In fact, the northwest half of New Mexico is under a flash flood watch through the weekend. The Albuquerque metro area is included in this flash flood watch. The possibility of slow moving thunderstorm dropping more heavy rain across the area is likely. Be sure to stay tuned to KRQE News 13 for more updates.
