New APS stadium has pop

The last APS football stadium was built in the 60′s. That will all change the last week in August. A new west side stadium will make it’s debut with all APS teams except La Cueva playing at the new venue in week one. La Cueva will be at Rio Rancho that week. APS got this one right from the bowl shaped design to the seating capacity of 7500. Solar panels will provide electricity for everything except the lights. On the side of the state of the art football stadium is a track. Big track meets will have plenty of room for fans because of the two thousand seats. Yes…that’s right, an extra 2000 seats sit on the south side of the stadium’s exterior. There is a track located next door. The stadium sits on 110 acres. Football and track are just the first part of the APS sports complex. Baseball and softball fields are planned along with tennis courts. Give APS an A plus on this one. They had a vision and did not drag their feet.

    Huh?

Football games seat up to 7,500. Track meets (just outside the football stadium) seat up to 2,000.
