Slower moving storms means flooding concerns…

Another good crop of storms developed Saturday afternoon at least over the Mountains.  Since the high pressure system that’s been off to our west moved back into New Mexico this weekend the winds aloft that were steering and moving the storms through the state no longer exist.

This means the storms that do develop for the rest of the weekend and into early next week will be very slow movers.  So there is a concern for flash flooding and runoff in areas that have experienced a fire this year or in the past few years.  If you do live near those areas that’s something you’ll really want to beware of especially if you get under a really, heavy downpour.
