ABQ RIDE to honor U.S. Flag at non

June 14th, 2013 at 10:42 am by under Latest Posts

Friday at noon, ABQ RIDE will continue this yearly tradition of honoring the U.S. Flag with a special ceremony at the Alvarado Transportation Center at First and Central SW.  ABQ RIDE employees who also served in the military will be honored with the presentation of a commemorative coin from the City of Albuquerque.

The ceremony will begin with patriotic music from the Albuquerque Concert Band, an all-volunteer ensemble that has been performing band music in the area for over forty years.  The Kirtland Air Force Base Honor Guard will present the colors, as vocalist Kim Kent sings the National Anthem.  The City of Albuquerque’s Veterans Affairs Office will then present special, commemorative coins to ABQ RIDE employees who served in the military.  The Albuquerque Concert Band will then play more music until 1:30 p.m.

This is a nice article. However, I must ask, “does anyone at KRQE know how to use spellcheck?”

“ABQ RIDE to honor U.S. Flag at non” really people?

I think the ABQ Ride drivers would rather have a pay increase. They’ve not had one in some years. The ABQ City Council voted unanimously some time back to raise the drivers pay by $1 an hour but the city rep at the meeting said “No”.
