Extreme Heat For The Long Haul…June 10th, 2013 at 10:44 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Extreme heat will continue across New Mexico over the next couple of days. High-pressure set up over the Southwest will dry out airmass out and skyrocket temperatures in the high 90s and low 100′s in some cases. That extreme heat holds on until at least mid to late week before we finally start to see a little moisture creeping from the Southwest.
Explosive fire weather will continue to be huge issue over the northern mountains and Gila wilderness as well. Temperatures will be in the low 90s with relative humidity in the single digits leading the fires exploding across the area.
In addition dry lightning with thunderstorms today could lead to more fire starts by tomorrow.
