Some Chances for Storms?May 30th, 2013 at 3:10 pm by chrisgilson under Weather
After another windy day, the wind will continue to stay strong into your Friday with the high fire danger continuing. On Saturday, the wind does come down a bit along with the temperatures. Temperatures to start the weekend will still be warm, but slightly cooler. The bigger drop in temperatures will be in Eastern and Southeastern New Mexico. Roswell and Carlsbad will get a break from the triple digit with highs in the upper 80s and lowers. So still hot, but not as bad.
There will be chance for spot storms in Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, but a better chance arrives on Sunday. That’s when we’ll likely see some more widespread activity. It is possible just enough moisture will make it into the metro to spark a dry thunderstorm, but most of the rain will stay to the east of us. Kind of like last weekend.
