Strong Storms In Eastern New Mexico….

Moisture is moving into the Eastern Plains of the state and with dry air to the west there will be a chance for storms over the next few days in the East.   Some of the storms could become severe with strong wind and large hail at times.  So if you have some outdoor plans in Eastern New Mexico, you’ll want to stay alert for storms that could fire during the afternoon.   The best chance for storm activity will be on Friday.  As each day goes on through the holiday weekend the storms won’t be as widespread. The chances will then be the greatest along the New Mexico and Texas border on Sunday.

In the metro, it doesn’t look like the moisture will get pass the Central Mountain chain to allow storms to develop here.  But, there’s a slight chance  for an isolated dry storm over the weekend.  So dry lightning strikes could become a concern.
