Winds Cranking Up On Monday….

Winds were breezy over the weekend, but that is going to change on Monday.  A back door cold front is going to slide across the state Monday night into Tuesday.  Out ahead of the front the winds are going to be picking up.   Areas to the north and in the East Central Plains will experience the worst of the winds.  They’ll be sustained from 20-30 mph in most areas with gusts of 40 mph or more.

The stronger winds will also create a high fire danger for the Northeast and East Central Plains so a Red Flag Warning has been issued for these areas for Monday.  The front doesn’t look to bring too much moisture with the exception of the Northern Mountains and Northeast.  Much of the state will just experience a drop in temperatures!
