Wild Weather Ahead…April 15th, 2013 at 5:12 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
A cold April storm will close in on the southwest over the next day or so. As the storm approaches winds will ramp up again on Tuesday. Gusts will top 50 mph over a large area of the state. These winds will lead to blowing dust across New Mexico. Though it may be tough to see skies will be mostly sunny with highs in the high 70′s.
By Wednesday a cold storm will pass through with another round of gusty winds and sharply colder temps. The best chance for rain and snow will be over northern and western sections late Wednesday night and Thursday. A few inches of accumulation will be possible over over the high terrain of the west and north.
By Thursday showers will clear late in the day over the mountains while the rest of the state will be well below average temp wise with not escaping the 50′s. Into the weekend temps will moderate to near average with mostly sunny skies.
