Strong, Gusty Winds for Friday…April 4th, 2013 at 3:10 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Winds were rather light on your Thursday, but it’s going to be a much different story on Friday. Strong westerly flow combined with an area of low pressure to our west and a high pressure system to our east will create a very tight pressure gradient over New Mexico. This setup will create strong, gusty winds for Friday. There’s also a high fire danger for tomorrow. Areas east of the central mountains and in the Eastern Plains are under a Red Flag Warning from Friday afternoon through Friday night.
We are watching another storm system that could give us a chance for scattered showers next week! We’ll keep watching it!
