4. Roman Catholics around the globe are welcoming the new head of their church. Cardinal Bergoglio from Argentina is now Pope Francis I. Pope Francis is the first Pontiff from the Americas and will be installed officially Tuesday. He’s also the first Jesuit to ever be named Pope.

3. Get out and enjoy another beautiful day. It will be mostly sunny with highs in the lower to mid 70s.
Tonight will be mostly clear with lows in the upper 30s to mid 40s.

2. The UNM lobos beat the Wyoming Cowboys in Las Vegas for the Mountain West Conference Tournanment 59 to 46. The Lobos play San Diego State Friday night at 7pm. You can catch that on the CBS sports network. Sports gurus have UNM as a third or fourth seed in the NCAA tourney which starts a week from today. They’ll find out sunday who and where they’re playing in the NCAA’s.

1. The number one thing you need to know today, The jury could begin deliberating today in the wrongful death case against Albuquerque Police and Officer Brett Lampiris Tremba. Yesterday – the judge dismissed the claim that APD was negligent in that training. Attorneys for the Ellis family rested their case. The city will present its side now. The jury will determine damages that APD and the city have to pay to the Ellis family.
