March 6th, 2013 at 6:57 pm by under Community Affairs

The movement to get guns off the streets continues with another gun buyback in Santa Fe this weekend.

The Santa Fe Police Department will hold its third event on Saturday.

Once again the department will offer $100 for working long guns, $150 for working handguns and $200 for working high-capacity or assault weapons.

Nonworking guns can also be turned in, but you wont’ get any money for them.

The department has $29,000 for the program, so it’s a first-come first-served situation.

The last two events netted about 400 guns.

The event will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the city of Santa Fe Facilities Maintenance Building at 2651 Siringo Road.
