Monday will be pretty nice! We’ll have a mix of sun and clouds for much of the state with temperatures staying above average. There’s just a small chance for spot showers to the north and northeast on Monday.
But, a better chance for spotty light showers arrives on Tuesday. That’s when a Pacific low and a back door cold front will push into the region. Both will help trigger some showers and cool us down to around average to even below average in parts of the state. The coolest temperatures will be found in Eastern New Mexico on Tuesday and Wednesday while the Metro will be around average or slightly below.
Models are now taking the low more to the north while the back door cold front will affect much of the state. The best chance for some scattered showers will be in the North, the Northeast, and the Eastern Plains of New Mexico.
The cool weather won’t stick around for very long. Winds in the upper-levels will quickly switch back to the west on Thursday. They’ll then bring in warmer, Pacific air, which will cause temperatures to once again climb above average.
