Another Storm But This One Is Different…February 25th, 2013 at 8:11 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Yet another winter storm will blast through New Mexico on Tuesday. However, this storm will lack the big snow footprint that the last storm had. But it will have the big time winds the last storm brought. Winds will gust to 55 mph over eastern and central sections of the state. Here in the metro winds will top 45 mph in the afternoon. While the east will see the strongest winds topping out over 50 mph at a gust.
As far as precip with this storm goes it will be limited. The only areas that could possibly see accumulating snow will be the northern mountains and NE. We are looking at 1″-4″ in these areas. So in reality this system will be a paltry snow maker.
There will be a break in the storm train on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies then another quick hitter storm and batch of wind will roll through on Thursday.
