Bernalillo County has scheduled another gun buyback for Saturday this time in the South Valley.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the South Area Command Center on Isleta Boulevard SW south of Arenal.

Visa gift cards will be exchanged for the weapons based on this scale released by the county:

$150 for any working handgun
$100 for any working long gun (rifle or shotgun)
$200 for any working high-capacity or assault weapon system (semi-automatic, magazine fed, military style rifle or carbine)

The county’s first buyback event two weeks ago netted more than 300 weapons.
