Here are the five things you need to know before you go this morning!

5) This is breaking international news. Remember one of the stars of the Summer Olympics “Blade Runner” Oscar Pistorius, the paraylmpic runner? Well he’s now charged with killing his girlfriend in South Africa. All of this broke overnight. CBS This Morning will have an update at 7.

4) Bad news about the flu here in New Mexico, two more kids have died from it. A two year old girl in McKinley County and a 15 year old boy from Torrance County died from the flu in just the past month. That’s a total of 11 people who died from the flu in New Mexico this season–89 have died from pneumonia.

3) A milder day today with a high near 53 and a North wind 5 to 15 mph. Then tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 23 and a North wind 5 to 10 mph.

2) New Mexico’s closer to making more rules from people who buy guns at gun shows. The proposed bill would make folks who buy guns from private sellers at gun shows go through a background check. Right now they don’t have to. The Governor says if she gets this bill the way it is right now that she’ll sign it.

1) Happy Valentine’s Day! This year, Valentine’s Day is estimated to contribute around $18.6 billion to the economy, according to the National Retail Federation. That’s about $130 per person!
