Here Comes Another StormFebruary 10th, 2013 at 4:52 pm by John Smith under Weather
After seeing a break on Sunday across much of the state, the next winter storm will dive into the state tonight. Expect snow to build back into the Four Corners and Northern Mountains tonight. Snow will continue from the Northern Mountains to the West Central part of the state during the day Monday. Even the metro could see a few passing showers, but most of the activity will stay north. Monday night the storm will start to lift out, but a back door cold front will drive down the east. That will allow good snow chances along the east facing slopes Monday night into Tuesday. Conditions clear across the entire state for Wednesday as temps begin to moderate.
Winter Storm Warnings, Winter Weather Advisories, and Winter Storm Watches are in effect for the areas shown below. Here’s what to expect for these locations:
Winter Storm Warning Area: 6″ – 12″ of additional snowfall tonight into Monday over the Northern Mountains of New Mexico. 12″ – 24″ of additional snowfall can be expeted in the San Juans of Colorado. The west facing slopes will be favored.
Winter Weather Advisory: 1″ – 3″ can be expect tonight through Monday at elevations below 7500 feet, while 3″ – 6″ will fall above 7500 feet.
Winter Storm Watch: Snow develops Monday night and continues into Tuesday. East facing slopes will be favored for accumulation. Expect low visibility, snow, and blowing snow throughout the day.
