Storms Are Closing In…February 6th, 2013 at 5:22 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
A series of storm systems will effect New Mexico over the next week. The first very weak system comes in tonight. This disturbance has just enough going for it to touch off a few snow showers over the mountains and maybe and inch or two of accumulation. Then we will have a break on Friday with mostly sunny skies. Saturday a storm will pass along the NM/Colorado state line. This storm will deliver snow to the SW and west facing slopes. 6″+ will be possible at some resort areas. In the valley sections precip will be more limited.
Another storm heads in on Monday. This storm will track farther to the south. That will allow the Rio Grande Valley to pick up a chance for rain/snow. Once again though the mountains will be favored for the best accumulations.
