All caves at El Malpais National Monument near Grants will remain closed for a while.

That’s because park staff is still working to allow access to select caves for recreational use by this summer, according to the Cibola Beacon

The monument is trying to preserve cave environments and protect bats from a fungus that has affected bat populations in caves elsewhere.
