Here are the five things you need to know before you go this morning!

5) Today marks Martin Luther King Jr. Day. He was assassinated back in 1968. It’s a federal holiday, so some businesses are open and others closed. Just real quick, The City of Albuquerque’s trash pick-up will still be on schedule. So put your trash and recyclables out on the curb!

4) In DC today, President Barack Obama is set to kick off his second term in office with a public swearing-in ceremony! The President had a formal private swearing-in yesterday at the White House because of the Constitutional requirement that the President be sworn in on January 20th.

3) Authorities say five people were found fatally shot in a home in the Southwest Valley. Deputies arrested 15-year-old, nehemiah with the deaths and he’s behind is behind bars on murder and other charges.

2) We now know that one of the victims, the father, Greg Griego, was a prominent Albuquerque Pastor. Also shot to death was his wife, and three of their kids by his 15-year-old son.

1) Layer up today because it’ll be sunny, with a high near 52 and a calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Then tonight will be clear, with a low around 25 and a Northwest wind around 5 mph.
