San Diego State is not going anywhere afterall. The Aztecs are staying in the Mountain West for all sports. San Diego State had plans of joinning the Big East next season. The constant changing landscape of that conference made it less attractive. It become less of a possibility when Boise State announced that they were staying in the Mountain West. Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson said, ” with today’s announcement, SDSU’s membership continues uninterrupted and helps the Mountain West maintain a solid foundation going forward.” With the addition of San Jose State and Utah State July 1, 2013, the Mountain West will have 12 football playing members and 11 in most sports. The University of New Mexico men’s soccer team will be in Conference USA next season.
