Program Note: NFL pre-empts, delays KRQE newscasts

KRQE News 13 at 5:30 p.m. will not air today and be delayed on Sunday as CBS broadcasts National Football League divisional playoff games.

Today coverage of the AFC playoff with the Denver Broncos hosting the Baltimore Ravens begins with “NFL Today” at 1:30 p.m..  Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. with the broadcast scheduled to last until at least 6 p.m.

Later newscasts will air in their regular time slots at 9 p.m. on 2 KASA Fox and 10 p.m. on KRQE News 13.

On Sunday “NFL Today” airs from 2-2:30 p.m. followed by the Houston Texans at New England Patriots game.  KRQE News 13 follows the game with an expanded newscast lasting until 7 p.m.

Also this weekend 2 KASA Fox broadcasts the NFC divisional playoffs:

  • Saturday – Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers, pregame 5:30 p.m., kickoff 6 p.m.
  • Sunday -  Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons, pregame 10 a.m., kickoff 11 a.m.

Divisional championship games next weekend will determine who plays in the Super Bowl in New Orleans and broadcast on CBS and KRQE on Sunday, Feb. 3.

    Why the hell are you broadcasting the Denver/Baltimore game in SPANISH???? This is AMERICA, where the first language is ENGLISH!!! Wake up and get your broadcasting act together! No wonder your station has such lousy ratings.
