Another Southern Storm

January 7th, 2013 at 10:12 pm by under Weather

For the second time in a week a storm will pass south of the state and spread rain and snow mainly over southern New Mexico.  Look for occasional showers on Tuesday.  Then as the storm scrapes SE New Mexico on Wednesday rain and snow will expand.  the best chance for significant snow will be over the east slopes of the Sacramento Mountains.  The snow will advance north into east central NM on Thursday morning.  Accumulations should be on the light side but travel could still be tricky over SE & east central sections Thursday morning.

I have a question about the wind. The wind has been blowing from the east here in Hachita for about 4 days, yet, reports say it is from the WSW or WNW? Why is that? Thank you.
