Calm Before the StormDecember 27th, 2012 at 3:56 pm by John Smith under Weather
Our most recent winter storm will continue to deliver some light snow north and west through the evening and overnight. Friday morning will begin partly cloudy with more sunshine by the afternoon. Friday will be cold, however, with afternoon highs 10° – 15° below average.
The weekend will be relatively quiet with a modest warm up of 5° – 10°. Expect mostly sunny skies for Saturday before clouds begin to stream back in for Sunday. Those clouds will be ahead of our next storm system.
Precip will begin to build into western New Mexico and Southern Colorado early Monday and expand across the state by New Year’s Day. This storm will likely dive further south, allowing for those who have missed out on the rain and snow to finally get some. Models are just starting to come into agreement on this, so if the next few model runs continue to show a more southerly track, we’ll be more confident on a good storm for the new year!
