Merry Christmas Eve!!December 24th, 2012 at 4:54 pm by Nance Burgin under Latest Posts
We continue to watch snow move through the northern half of the state this evening and into tonight. An upper level storm system will track to the east overnight and into Christmas morning, bringing rain/snow chances, bitter cold and high winds. Expect the wind chill factor to be intense tonight and into tomorrow morning. Temperatures will feel much colder than they really are. The most snow accumulation will be seen on the western slopes and high peaks of the Northern Mountains. Please keep in mind, when traveling, that roadways may become slick. Use extreme caution!!
We will see the snow move out of the area by tomorrow, leaving mostly clear skies and chilly temps behind. A back door cold front will bring a slight chance of showers to the NE corner of NM but widespread activity is not expected.
Our next wintry system should impact the area later this week.
Have a wonderful and safe Christmas!!
