A storm system currently over California will move into the SW on Thursday. That storm will spread heavy rain and mountain snow over AZ during the day. Showers and snow over the Gila will break out Thursday evening. Overnight showers and snow will spread over the mountains and into central sections. during the day Friday the pacific cold front will pass through the state touching of rain and snow. The storm will lift out of NM on Saturday.
The areas most favored for heavy snow will be the San Juan Mountains of NM and CO as well as the western mtns, Gila, and Jemez Mountains. 10″+ are possible along west facing slopes. In the metro is will be a shade too warm for big time snow accumulations but we will see a cold mix on Friday.
