We Have A Very Interesting Weekend Ahead…December 7th, 2012 at 8:43 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Saturday will largely be quiet with temps still above average and partly sunny skies. The big changes roll in early Sunday. A double shot of cold air will push in from the north and send temps down in the 20′s and 30′s for highs both Sunday and Monday. This will be our coldest air of the season so far. No only will it get cold but snow will develop over the north during the day Sunday. The east slopes of the northern mountains will be favored for the most snow (6″-8″) possible there. The east mountains could pick up 3″-6″. The NE pains and highlands could pick up 3″-5″. Here in the metro east winds are likely to keep snow numbers in check up an inch or two is not out of the question in winds die down a bit.
This is the first in a series of storms slated to hit the state over the next two weeks.
