Yarn Bombing at River of LightsDecember 7th, 2012 at 12:09 pm by ryanprice under Community Affairs, News
The Albuquerque BioPark is warning anyone coming to the River of Lights this holiday season to look out for “yarn bombings”.
Officials say these “yarn bombings” are allegedly committed by secret guerrilla knitting forces that knit miles of yarn into fun displays.
We have a confirmed yarn bombing at the Children’s Fantasy Garden. The guerrillas knitters responsible for this act of decoration are local yarn stores, Village Wools, Yarn Store at Nob Hill, Fiber Chicks and the Sweater Girls, as well as a community of fiber artists.
“The Fantasy Garden is looking even more whimsical” said Judi Civerolo, Special Events Director for the New Mexico BioPark society.
Anyone wishing to see the aftermath of these guerillas knitters is encouraged to visit the Botanic Garden or come to the River of Lights event.
