Breaking the PatternDecember 3rd, 2012 at 4:30 pm by John Smith under Weather
Without a doubt, New Mexico has been in a bad pattern with warm temps and little rain or snow. All that could change by early next week!
Over the course of the week, westerly flow will build back in allowing temperatures to warm to near records once again Wednesday and Thursday. Things stay dry as well, with only a few clouds through Thursday.
By the weekend, a storm will be moving into our direction. One model wants to drop it into northern New Mexico late Sunday, allowing for Northern Mountain and Southern Colorado snow and cooler temps. The other model wants to drop the storm all the way into southern New Mexico. This would mean much better rain and snow chances across much more of the state. This scenario will also mean much colder temperatures as well. We could go from temperatures well above average to below average by early next week!
