The Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort near Taos opened on man-made snow today, but a little farther south Santa Fe skiers got disappointing news.

Sipapu off State Route 517 about 20 miles southeast of Santa Fe reports a 16-inch base with five trails and two lifts open.

Above Santa Fe, however, Ski Santa Fe has delayed its traditional Thanksgiving holiday opening with no new date yet announced.

Snowmakers are hard at work, according to Ski Santa Fe, which says it could be open within 48 hours of a significant snowfall.
