Not Much ExcitementNovember 16th, 2012 at 8:12 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
It won’t be a completely boring weather weekend but sadly it will be close. A SW flow of air over the state will lead to partly cloudy skies. The western tier of NM will have a chance to pick up a few showers and the northern mountains could grab a snow shower or two. However, widespread precip not only is not in the cards this weekend its not in the cards next week either. This is becoming a serious concern. We are down 82% precip wise for the fall so far. That combined with the fact that we are up an average of 4° temp wise and you can see another very depressing trend develop.
Long term forecasts released yesterday show little help for the drought on the way this winter and spring. Now these long term forecasts are not as reliable as the much shorter forecasts. But they definitely raise some alarm bells.
