Christmas trees the old fashioned wayNovember 13th, 2012 at 12:05 pm by ryanprice under News
Permits for cutting Christmas trees in the Gila National Forest will be going on sale Monday, November 19.
This year families will be able to purchase their permit for cutting their Christmas tree four days earlier than normal. This means that trees can be cut during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The forest service is requiring that people cutting down trees must meet certain requirements before picking up a tree. The tree must be 200 feet from any road, less than 10 feet tall and away any river or streams.
