Keep Albuquerque Beautiful (KAB) will be giving away chances to receive a free turkey for every five plastic shopping bags the public brings in to John Brooks Supermarket this Thursday.

The recycling group Keep Albuquerque Beautiful participates each year with different communities in the county to celebrate America Recycles Day.

In an effort to remove plastic bags from the waste stream KAB with the help of John Brooks supermarket will be collecting old plastic bags, and for every five bags a reusable bag is handed out.

If the reusable is pre-marked then the person is the winner of a free turkey.

This event will be going from 10 to 2.pm. on Thursday, November 15th.
