Ok Here We Go…November 9th, 2012 at 10:09 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
A strong Pacific cold front is headed in our direction. As the front moves into the NW overnight snow levels will drop and steady snow will develop over the western slopes over the San Juan and Jemez mountains where Winter Storm Warnings are in place. During the day tomorrow snow will spread into the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. There is winter weather advisory in place here. Total snow accumulations will be 6″-12″ in the San Juans & Jemez with 3″-8″ possible over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
As far as the metro goes, winds will gust up to 45 mph as the front approaches around noon tomorrow. As the front passes a winter mix of precip will push through the city. After the front passes scattered snow will hang around the area with much colder temps. We aren’t likely to see significant accumulations but it definitely feel like winter.
By Sunday skies will clear with cold temps. Highs will top out in low 40′s.
