Changes Are On The Way…November 7th, 2012 at 5:41 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Winds will begin to crank up on Thursday afternoon as a cold trough closes in. Out ahead of the main trough will be a smaller disturbance that could touch off a quick shower in western sections of the state. But the main action begins on Friday. Winds will crank up significantly out of the SW and snow will develop over NW NM and SW CO. As the front passes through the state during the day Saturday temps will plummet and winds will continue to gust over 40 mph. Here is a look at the snow projections from this storm.
The favored area for snow will be the San Juans of CO and northern NM. Snowfall amounts over one foot are possible. here in the metro we will have a shot for a few showers early Saturday but big snow is unlikely.
