Firefighting courses to be offered in Truth or Consequences

Black Range Ranger District of the Gila National Forest will be holding free basic firefighter training courses in Truth or Consequences from December 17-21.

Training is voluntary but can increase the employment opportunities for wild land firefighting if students are interested. During fire season Gila Fire managers utilize community members to assist in firefighting.

There will be 25 people per class and students should be ready to spend eight hours a day on training.
