The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions says the metro area lost more than 3,000 jobs in the past year that ended in September.

The area’s unemployment rate fell to 6.6 percent in September, down from 6.8 percent in August.

The industries that gained jobs during that period were leisure and hospitality and retail trade.

  1. The hotel industry has been hiring a lot lately but i am not sure that it will make the raise of the leisure employment rate go up that much. The question is where are the jobs going? Oversea or were they just not needed in the beginning or what is happening?
