Keeping with its annual tradition, South Broadway Cultural Center invites everyone to join in the celebration of Dia de los Muertos on Sunday, October 28th from Noon to 5 p.m.
In addition to a reception for the artists whose Dia de los Muertos-themed works are on exhibition in the beautiful gallery, the event will feature entertainment for all ages with face painting, music, dance, community altars, and arts and crafts.
Performing on the theater stage will be La Rondalla de Albuquerque, La Compania de Danza Xallitic-Cesar Velazquez, and Mariachi Nuevo Mexico.
In the Multipurpose Room visit the Dia de los Muertos Market where Goldie Garcia presents her folk artists entourage featuring: The Two Gringos, Kate and Sarah, Richard Trujillo, Mayling Garcia, Rose Garcia, Scott Garcia, Michelle Montano, Oscar Lozoya, Goldie Garcia and James Montoya.
Enjoy arts and crafts in the Library with Sarah Hughson, Henry Morales, Lisa Rossignal, Carol Sullivan and the Calavera King and Queen. Kids of all ages can get their faces painted in Dia de los Muertos style in the Library by artists Cesar Canales, Andrea Olguin and Janet Dominguez.
