Albuquerque’s Open Space Division is looking for volunteers to help celebrate national Make a Difference Day by cleaning up and fixing up public space in the Sandia Mountains foothills.
The project takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Piedra Lisa Open Space at the east end of Candelaria Boulevard NE.
The work includes trail maintenance, trail building, trash cleanup, graffiti removal and more.
Trail tools, equipment, and water will also be provided. Volunteers should dress in layers, wear sun protection and hiking boots, and bring work gloves.
Make a Difference Day is a national day of community service held annually at the end of October.
