Warm… For Now…
Temperatures are well above average across New Mexico again this weekend. This will be the case moving into the first half of the workweek as well. The only rainfall expected over the next few days will be in the southeast late Sunday and Sunday night as a weak disturbance passes through. However, don’t expect beneficial rainfall, with most locations staying dry.
A storm system gathering strength over the Pacific Northwest will dive into Colorado by the middle of the upcoming work week. This may send a couple of showers into Southern Colorado and the far northern reaches of the Northern Mountains. The biggest impact from this storm will be elevated winds midweek as the storm passes north. Then behind the storm, temperatures will plummet for the end of the week and next weekend. While the western part of the state will see around a 10° drop, parts of the eastern plains will fall by as much as 30°!
