5) A Bernalillo County Deputy who lost her battle with cancer will be laid to rest today. Deputy Daphne Garcia died on Monday. She was diagnosed with skin cancer a year ago. her funeral is at 9:30 this morning at “St. Therese” on mildred in northwest.
4) Early voting is going on right now and tomorrow it’s really about to kick up. Sixteen more early voting sites open up around Bernalillo County and if you’re wondering about the lines there is new smart phone app called “My Vote Center” app available for Android and iPhone users.
3) People opposed to a new Walmart in their neighborhood packed a public meeting last night. This morning it looks like it was somewhat of a victory for them. The Environmental Planning Commission decided against letting the Walmart go up but it’s not a done deal until the City Council has a final say.
2) Head to the Zoo this weekend! Admission is half price for adults at $5. Then for kids and seniors it’s $2.25. It’s part of a special the Zoo tries to do every month.
1) Today will be sunny, with a high near 79-degrees and a light northwest wind of 10 to 15 miles-per-hour. Then tonight expect clear skies, with a low around 41-degrees and a western wind of only 5 to 10 miles-per-hour becoming light in the evening.
