7,300 acres are set to burn 3-5 miles northeast of Jemez Springs, N.M.

    Every year they do this exactly when the cottonwoods and aspens are turning, making it pointless for tourists to travel to the Jemez region to photograph or otherwise enjoy them. This is a period that could be very economically advantageous to local businesses but every year the Feds and their flunkies screw them over.

    I realize that the area needs prescribed burns but NOT at the peak of the Fall foliage season.
