So There’s A Chance Right?

Yes there is a chance to get the Saturday mass ascension in but it will be a tight fit at best.  Winds will die down overnight to around 10mph.  The problem is they will crank right back up again Saturday afternoon.  The reason this is important is because winds higher in the atmosphere are likely to stay gusty.   If that is the case it will make the ballooning very difficult.  We need the winds to stay down in the bottom layer of the atmosphere up to about 3,000 feet above ground level.  If this happens we might be able to squeeze the mass ascension in.  If not, there is a silver lining.  Sunday looks very good for the final day of Fiesta.

Has there ever been one with so many days cancelled before?

Yes. A few years ago there were multiple rainouts. Maybe five mornings and evenings lost but will need to check that number.
