One More Quiet Day…October 9th, 2012 at 8:19 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
A weak cold front will knock down temps over eastern NM on Wednesday. However, this front won’t pack any moisture so we will stay dry over the state until Thursday. Low pressure will approach the mountain west Thursday afternoon through Friday. The current track sends the storm through the 4-corners and up into Colorado. This is not the ideal track but scattered showers will be possible on Friday in the metro along with gusty winds. This will mean a touch and go situation at Balloon Fiesta Park. I don’ think we are looking at a blowout or rain out for multiple events but it will be a tricky deal. On the positive side the weekend looks pretty good. The only caveat being that winds have to come down Saturday morning. If we can pull this it off it will be a great wrap to fiesta.
