A skydiving daredevil is preparing for the thrill of a lifetime … Hoping to become the first person to break the sound barrier – in the skies over New Mexico.

Felix Baumgartner the Austrian skydiver will attempt to jump from a balloon-hoisted capsule at an altitude of 23 miles.

He’ll have to wear an astronaut-style suit with a helmet to try to prevent potential blood clots and hemorrhaging.

Despite the dangers involved, the daredevil says he’s stoked.

The current record for the highest skydive is just above 20 miles.

Baumgartner’s jump is scheduled for Tuesday.
