A Close Call For FiestaOctober 5th, 2012 at 10:17 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Winds will be an issue this first weekend of Fiesta. Model forecasts put winds between 10-20 mph at 7am. This is right on the borderline of what the balloons can tolerate. We will just have to wait and see how it pans out tomorrow morning. By tomorrow evening winds will likely be even worse. The chances for getting the glow and gas balloon liftoff looks like a long shot but stranger things have happened.
As far as Sunday goes winds will need to die down overnight for Sunday to go off as scheduled. This a real possibility. But again it will be close.
