City leaders take initiative to promote Albuquerque to decision makers
Mayor Richard J. Berry is currently on a multiple-city site visit to the east coast to encourage business development and expansion in the Albuquerque area. He is joined by Albuquerque Economic Development (AED) president Gary Tonjes and Director of Economic Development for the city, John Garcia.
“It is important to get out and pound the pavement and remind the decision maker’s around the country about the many advantages to doing business in Albuquerque,” said Mayor Richard J. Berry. “As Mayor I’m also interested in hearing how we can be more competitive in this ever changing economic landscape.
A multitude of meetings have been arranged in New York, New Jersey, and the Boston area with business executives and major site selection consultants to promote investment in Albuquerque in order to bring new jobs.
“It makes a difference in economic development when leadership is engaged and knowledgeable about business recruitment,” said Gary Tonjes. “Mayor Berry is delivering a strong message that is being well received by the companies and consultants we are meeting with on this trip.”
