What You Missed Monday Morning

If you didn’t catch News 13 New This Morning, you missed a lot.   We’d love for you to share your thoughts and opinions with us continue the conversation all day long.

Here’s a quick summary of some of what we talked about today:

  • Wildfire near Ruidoso
  • New Abq anti-poverty program

The big story of the morning – the Little Bear Fire that’s raging out of control near Ruidoso.  The latest estimates have it at 27,000 acres and none of it is contained.  The fire’s burned at least 36 buildings and homes.  Late last night, firefighters lifted the evacuation order for Rancho Ruidoso, but at the same time, the put people in the Upper Canyon area on alert.  Governor Martinez was in the area this weekend and she is set to go back later this week.

A new anti-poverty program is coming to Albuquerque.  Governor Martinez and Mayor R.J. Berry are launching it at 11:30 this morning at Tiguex Way in Albuquerque.  They haven’t said exactly what the program’s going to be, but we hear in involves students at Central New Mexico Community College helping needy kids.
