Wind, smoke, dust and stormsMay 26th, 2012 at 5:10 pm by Ian Schwartz under News, Weather
Windy hit the state hard on Saturday with gusts at 60 miles per hour in some spots.
The wind will continue to batter the state through the early evening hours.
Some storms are also firing in the NE and SE, hail and strong winds will be the main threat with these storms.
By the late evening, the wind will relax for many locations.
Smoke will creep into the Albuquerque Metro this evening too.
For Sunday expect much cooler conditions in the west and continued wind in the east. High fire danger will also be a concern for eastern NM.
Spots storms could pop off in the east again for Sunday.
Smoke will linger in the middle Rio Grande Valley Sunday, but start to shift to the south a bit as our winds change.
For Memorial Day we will have much less wind and partly cloudy skies with a chance for a spot storm in the east.
Have a great weekend!
