Lead-Coal reopenings delayed to Sunday
The switch of Lead and Coal avenues back to a one-way pair has been delayed until Sunday, according to a spokesperson for the reconstruction project.
The contractor is citing the wet weather earlier this week, which has held up paving and striping of the final segment east of Interstate 25.
After the switch only one one-way lane will be open–east on Coal, west on Lead–while paving is completed beginning at 8 a.m. Monday.
The spokesperson said residences and businesses on Coal may find their driveways blocked for up to an hour during the paving.
During the current phase of the project Coal has carried two-way traffic while Lead has been closed.

The surface of the sections already paved is noticeably inferior to what was there before the project began.
